Calm is a feature.
Most software shouts. We whisper. Alerts arrive with a plan, not panic. The product should feel like a senior farm manager walking the pens with you — not a pager.
The principles that guide every line we ship, every feature we cut, and every AI draft we're proud to send.
North star
“A small farm should feel like a well-run company — without losing its smallness.”
Most software shouts. We whisper. Alerts arrive with a plan, not panic. The product should feel like a senior farm manager walking the pens with you — not a pager.
We will never call a draft a result. We will never call a recommendation a decision. The model proposes. The human disposes. That is the whole product.
A broiler is not a row in a generic CRM. A pond is not a project. A batch is not a ticket. We model the farm as it actually is — and the AI reasons inside that model.
We store it in kobo. We never float-arithmetic it. The AI cannot post a sale, an expense, or a feed order without your tap. The safety floor is a property of the data, not a politeness of the prompt.
Aurora, pgvector, Bedrock, Nova. The LLM-shaped holes in the data are zero. The product, on the other hand, should feel like the future of farming — because it is.
We do not pad the product with 200 features. Six things that earn their place. We say no to dark patterns, engagement bait, and AI that talks when it should listen.
If a number isn't in the data, the assistant says so. The first version is wrong about this. We will keep tightening it. The farmer should never have to guess where a number came from.
Rejecting a draft is one tap. Exports are first-class. The data is yours. The audit trail is yours. You can leave any time, and we should be the kind of tool you stay with, not the kind you can't.
What we won't do
Every company has a manifesto of what they do. We think the more honest document is the one that says what you will never do.
Read the safety designNo silent money movements.
No AI that confuses confidence with correctness.
No engagement metrics that punish you for getting work done.
No models in a closet. No static keys. No LLM-shaped holes in your data.
No greenwashed CRM with a leaf icon.
